Fire of Brazil signs
12-nation development deal
DUNWOODY, Ga. (Jan.
30) - With two
company-owned
churrascarias operating in
northern Atlanta and one
each in Palm Beach, Fla.,
and Nashville, Tenn., Fire
Of Brazil, based here,
inked a 12-nation
development deal for the
Middle East and North
Africa with Bahrain-based
Living Concepts Group,
according to Fire of
Brazil franchising partner
Brent Gilbertson.
Following the debut of
a Bahrain unit this May,
the franchisee intends to
clone Fire of Brazil
churrascarias in United
Arab Emirates, Sultanate
Of Oman, Saudi Arabia,
Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan,
Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt,
Libya and Algeria.
A former
suburban-Atlanta nightclub
operator and developer of
the former San Francisco
Wraps burrito brand,
Gilbertson launched Fire
of Brazil two years ago
with his father R.J. and
brother Terry Gilbertson.
The franchising group is
talking with developers in
Miami and two other South
Florida markets, and
Charlotte, N.C.,
California and Ohio deals
are also likely by the end
of the first quarter,
Gilbertson said.
